Which cities are inside the circle, and which get their own page?
Draw a 30-mile circle around the 75228 centroid and thirty North Texas cities fall inside it: almost all of Dallas County, the south half of Collin County, the east edge of Tarrant County and the Denton County suburbs along I-35E and SH-121. Prosper, a mile past the line, is the one near miss, and a Prosper driver is welcome on the same terms as anyone else.
Twelve of the thirty have a page of their own because they send the most work and because something useful can be said about each: which routes hold their time, what the local driveways hold, which services come in from there. They are Dallas, Garland, Mesquite, Irving, Richardson, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Balch Springs, Grand Prairie, Arlington, Plano and Rowlett, the same twelve the Spanish sister site writes about. The remaining eighteen appear in the table on this page with their zip codes and drive times.
A city without a page is not a city with a different offer. The ranges, the parts, the approval process and the warranty are identical for all thirty.
How long does the drive take from each direction?
East and southeast is the shop's home turf: Mesquite and Balch Springs border the 75228 area and are inside fifteen minutes by I-635 or by Lake June, Military Parkway and Buckner; Garland is ten minutes by Garland Road from its south side and twenty-five from Firewheel; Rowlett, Sunnyvale and Sachse are twenty to twenty-five by I-30, the PGBT or SH-78. The one slow spot is the I-635 and US-80 interchange in the late afternoon.
North is US-75: Richardson in eighteen minutes, Plano in twenty, Allen in twenty-two, McKinney in thirty when the road is clear. The morning rush southbound adds fifteen minutes, which is why a Plano or McKinney drop-off is easier at ten than at eight; Jupiter Road and Plano Road down to Northwest Highway are the surface alternative. Frisco, Addison and the Park Cities come down the Tollway or across the PGBT to I-635.
West and northwest is I-635: Farmers Branch in sixteen minutes, Irving and Addison in eighteen to twenty, Carrollton, Coppell and Lewisville in twenty to twenty-five, with the I-35E and Tollway interchanges as the variable. Grand Prairie and Arlington are the long drives, twenty-five and thirty minutes on I-30 through Downtown Dallas outside the rush and considerably more inside it.
Does the circle keep anyone out?
No. Rockwall, Forney, Prosper and Fort Worth drivers can book like anyone else; the circle decides which cities get pages, not who gets served. The drive is worth making for the jobs where the diagnosis with the factory tool decides the bill, a transmission that shudders, an engine that misfires, an A/C that fails every June, a used car worth inspecting before the money changes hands. For an oil change on its own, the shop will say plainly that somewhere closer makes sense.
A car that cannot be driven is towed in. You book the tow; the shop gives you and the driver the address. Overheating, a knock from the engine, grinding brakes or a flashing engine light are reasons to tow rather than drive, whatever the distance.
Why is there no street address on the site?
Because Dallas Mechanic is organised as a service-area business, defined by the cities it serves rather than by a storefront people walk into. The address, with directions from your corridor and a realistic arrival window for your side of the metro, is part of the booking confirmation.
The work itself happens in one fixed place in east Dallas, on lifts, with the brand software and the test equipment described on the about page. The address simply arrives one step later than on a walk-in shop's website.
How long is the drive by corridor?
- I-30 and I-635 east: Mesquite, Balch Springs, Sunnyvale
- Ten to twenty minutes. Mesquite and Balch Springs touch the 75228 area; the I-635 and US-80 interchange backs up after four in the afternoon, when Military Parkway and Lake June are the better way in.
- Garland Road, Centerville and SH-78: Garland, Sachse, Wylie, Murphy
- South Garland in ten minutes on surface streets, Downtown Garland in fifteen, Firewheel and Sachse in twenty to twenty-five, Wylie and Murphy in twenty-five to thirty; no highway needed from the south half of Garland.
- I-30 and Lakeview Parkway across the lake: Rowlett, Rockwall
- Rowlett in about twenty-five minutes, Rockwall a little over thirty. The Lake Ray Hubbard bridge is slow westbound in the morning; Lakeview Parkway through Garland avoids it.
- US-75: Richardson, Plano, Allen, McKinney
- Eighteen, twenty, twenty-two and thirty minutes with the road clear; add fifteen southbound in the morning rush. Jupiter Road and Plano Road to Northwest Highway are the surface fallback.
- Tollway and PGBT: Addison, Frisco, Highland Park, University Park
- The Park Cities in twelve to thirteen minutes by US-75 or surface streets, Addison in about seventeen by I-635, Frisco in twenty-five down the Tollway or across the PGBT to I-635.
- I-635 and I-35E northwest: Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Lewisville, The Colony, Flower Mound
- Sixteen minutes from Farmers Branch, twenty from Carrollton, twenty-five from Lewisville, twenty-six from The Colony by SH-121, thirty from Flower Mound. The I-35E interchange is the slow point in both rushes.
- I-635 and SH-114 west: Irving, Coppell, Grapevine, Southlake
- Irving and Las Colinas in eighteen to twenty minutes by I-635 east; Coppell in twenty-two, Grapevine in twenty-five, Southlake in twenty-eight via SH-114 to I-635.
- I-30 west through Downtown: Grand Prairie, Arlington
- Twenty-five and thirty minutes outside the rush, forty-five or more inside it. Mid-morning or Saturday is the sensible plan, and the shop will say so when you book from the west side.

Questions
What do drivers ask about the service area?
No. The lifts, the alignment machine, the A/C equipment and the diagnostic software for each make live at the shop in east Dallas, so that is where the work happens. You drive in or book a tow, and the address is in the confirmation.
No. A driver from Arlington pays the same published range as a driver from Casa View. Distance costs you time and nothing else, which is why the corridor notes are honest about the rush hours.
The centre is 75228. The 30-mile circle takes in the Dallas zips, Mesquite 75149–75181, Balch Springs 75180, Garland 75040–75045, Rowlett 75088–75089, Richardson 75080–75083, Plano 75023–75094, Irving 75038–75063, Carrollton 75006–75010, Farmers Branch 75234–75244, Grand Prairie 75050–75054, Arlington 76001–76018 and the zips of the other cities in the table.
Rockwall is a mile or two past the 30-mile line and Fort Worth is well beyond it; both can book on the same terms. The trip pays off for the jobs where the diagnosis with the factory tool decides the bill, and the shop will tell you when a closer option makes more sense.
